Abortion

"It is my belief that no one wants to have the situation arise where a woman becomes pregnant and does not wish to give birth. Whether you classify yourself as "pro life" or "pro choice," I am sure that you would rather a woman never feel obliged to have an abortion in the first place. There can be no denial that unwanted pregnancies have been around since the beginning of time. It is my contention that the problem has become exacerbated by government. I can not find in the Constitution where the federal government has any authority in this area, and therefore conclude that it should be left to the states. I also think that if we did not have the government interceding into the economics of our lives by paying for abortions or children born out of wedlock, we would have a dramatic reduction in the numbers of abortions."
